NORTH ADAMS -- The members of the local Vietnam Veterans of America chapter have adopted two parks in the city.
One of the parks is on Sperry Street, across the Hoosic River from the Vietnam Veterans' club. Two weeks ago, volunteers from the club grabbed their rakes, brought some trash bags and spent 30 hours cleaning the park.

NORTH ADAMS -- TOPS MA 229 met with 10 members weighing in. The best TOPS loser of the week was Judy Lescarbeau. The best KOPS loser was Phil Lescarbeau.
The inspirational readings were by Amy Christian and Hope Ican. The program for the evening was, "Best Losers for April.

PITTSFIELD -- The Berkshire County Chapter Health and Safety Services of the American Red Cross will offer CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer on Monday and Tuesday, May 19 and 20, from 6 to10 p.m., at the Berkshire Red Cross, 480 West St.
The cost is $45. Full payment is required at the time of registration to reserve a space in class.
