WILLIAMSTOWN -- Three Williams College faculty members have been promoted to full professor, effective next July 1. Promoted by the trustees were Dr. Richard Rouse Jr., associate professor of psychology; Irwin Shainman, associate professor of music; and Dr. Guilford Spencer, associate professor of mathematics.
STAMFORD, Vt. -- The 4-H Sewing Club for girls of Grades 5 through 8 met a the home of their leader, Mrs. George Emmons, with 10 members present. Election of officers was held with the following being named: President, Donna Bushika; vice president, Cheryl Sweet; secretary, Christine Spencer; treasurer, Kristin Fabricius; song leader, Jean Spencer; reporter, Cathy Hohn; recreation leader, Ellen Whitham; and health officer, Helen Rondeau.

NORTH ADAMS -- Patrick Sullivan Jr. of North Adams, an employee of the Massachusetts Department of Public Works, recently received a Certificate of Appreciation as part of the Massachusetts Performance Recognition Program. The program awards the state's most dedicated employees for their outstanding job performance. Mr. Sullivan is an industrial safety and health inspector for District 1.
LANESBORO -- Staff Sgt. Alvin Clairmont, son of Ruth Clairmont of 3 Maple Court, arrived for duty with the 6550th Security Police Squadron at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla. A law enforcement supervisor, he graduated in 1970 from Mt. Greylock Regional High School, Williamstown.

NORTH ADAMS -- In Junior Division Youth Football, North Adams Cowboys defeated Cheshire, 14-12. Bill Bostwick picked up 83 yards rushing and scored both touchdowns. Jake Cantoni added a two-point conversion. On defense, Dillon Flynn led the way with nine tackles, Jake Cantoni had seven and Mike Cantoni had five.
ADAMS -- In Adams Youth Football, the Adams Jets defeated CYC Green, 18-0. Casey Koperniak led the Jets with 105 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Doug Rosenthal and Austin Alibozek also ran and blocked well with Rosenthal scoring the other touchdown. On defense, Kyle Wilson had eight tackles and Casey Koperniak, "A Train" Alibozek and "Zippy" Taylor had seven tackles each.
