Sending help after Sandy: LANESBOROUGH -- A Hurricane Sandy relief effort, led by members of the Lanesborough Fire Department and contributed to by several Northern Berkshire fire departments, delivered four truckloads of local supplies to Queens, N.Y. this past weekend. Lanesborough Fire Chief Charles Durfee and Assistant Chief Glen Storie, who kick-started the effort, shared with the Transcript what they saw during the trip.

Crest Street completion is coming: NORTH ADAMS -- Repairs to Crest Street, caused by flood waters from Tropical Storm Irene, should be completed before the end of December.
