Suspect in Park Street evacuation released: ADAMS -- A 59-year-old man arrested after initiating Sunday's Park Street evacuation was arraigned and released on personal recognizance in Northern Berkshire District Court in North Adams on Tuesday.

James V. Bourdon, of Highland Avenue in West Springfield, is charged with lewdness, open and gross indecent exposure, and possession of an unsecured and loaded weapon. Judge Rita Koenigs sat for the arraignment, and declined a request from the commonwealth to set Bourdon's bail at $5,000 on account of his mental state.

Winter parking ban comes back around again: NORTH ADAMS -- Mayor Alcombright and Police Director Michael

Cozzaglio are reminding residents the city's winter parking ban will go into effect on Nov. 15, with no parking on streets from 1 to 6 a.m. In addition, they spoke about how and when CodeRED will be deployed in snow emergencies and about neighborhoods where leeway is given for residents with no off-street parking.

On the Council's agenda: NORTH ADAMS -- City Councilors will be asked to approve a $15,000 transfer from the surplus overlay account to cover a simple interest payment due on Verizon's abatement for fiscal year 2009, when the state overvalued its property. The amount will close out the money owed to Verizon.

In addition, the Council will be asked to approve a grievance procedure as agreed upon in its recent Americans with Disabilities Act settlement.
