Public hearing set: NORTH ADAMS -- The City Council held a special meeting tonight to schedule a public hearing on setting the city's tax rate. The hearing will take place Dec. 18, at 5 p.m., in City Council Chambers.

Chase follows three-vehicle crash: NORTH ADAMS -- At roughly 4:30 p.m. today, a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of River and Brown streets left one person trapped in a vehicle and involved police in a pursuit of a vehicle that left the scene.
Early reports indicate the trapped person, extricated from the vehicle by emergency responders, was sent to the hospital and the driver who left the scene was later

New York City fashions on Park Street: ADAMS -- Malcolm Wilson has opened Malcolm's Fashion at 31 Park St., a clothing store that will hold hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Malcolm's specializes in the latest New York City fashions, and offers "competitive pricing all day."

Boardom in Adams: ADAMS -- A new business on Park Street recently held a soft opening right in time for the holiday season.
Boardshire is a small board "boutique" that specializes in area brands for anything to do with boards: snowboards, skateboards, longboards, balance boards, freeboards and wakeboards. The store also carries basic apparel, such as shirts, sweatshirts and neck warmers, as well as local snowboard videos.
