Cuts come before Council: NORTH ADAMS -- At tonight’s City Council meeting, members are set to discuss Mayor Richard Alcombright’s proposed $172,309 in cuts and $428,662 in reserve fund transfers to balance the fiscal 2013 budget before the upcoming tax classification hearing. The meeting will also see an update on the Western Gateway Heritage State Park project.

Community Action’s Christmas elves: NORTH ADAMS -- Northern Berkshire Community Action entered its second day of giving out presents today for its annual Elf Program, and volunteers were at the ready in the Main Street distribution center.

Driver damages school field in Stamford: STAMFORD, Vt. -- The Bennington County Sheriff Department is investigating vandalism behind Stamford Elementary School, where a vehicle entered the property near the library and did doughnuts on part of a baseball field and in a recess and recreation area.

Speaking their minds on The Spruces: WILLIAMSTOWN -- The fate of The Spruces Mobile Home Park was a hot topic at Monday’s selectmen meeting, as the town waits to hear the status of a $6.25 million hazard mitigation grant it applied for in order to relocate residents and demolish the park.

Approximately seventy minutes were dedicated to letting those present voice their concerns and ask questions about what will happen if the town receives the grant.
