Calling the Corps of Engineers: WILLIAMSTOWN -- An informal group of residents, calling themselves Save the Spruces, is petitioning the Selectmen to request the Army Corps of Engineers study flooding near The Spruces Mobile Home Park. They will come before Selectmen on Monday night.

Fire strikes Cheshire home: CHESHIRE -- A fire today in a house near Cheshire Elementary School required the response of both the Cheshire and Adams fire departments.

Jones Block delay: ADAMS -- An auction today of the Jones Block building on Park Street was postponed until March 15.

Clarksburg looks into leasing: CLARKSBURG -- Selectmen announced the town is exploring leasing two offices on the town hall's second floor, and discussed the town's increased tax bills at Wednesday night's meeting.

Chairman Carl McKinney announced the accounting office will share space with the Planning Board and the building inspector. With excess space in town hall, the town is exploring the possibility of leasing out two rooms on the building's second floor to generate additional revenue.
