In North Adams, Mayor Richard J. Alcombright has declared a snow emergency beginning at noon on Friday, until 8 p.m. on Saturday. The mayor has said the hours of the snow emergency may be modified depending on weather conditions.

Residents of both communities are reminded that during a snow emergency no on-street parking is allowed. Residents are also urged to limit travel during the impending storm and to plan for heavy snow and high winds that could result in power outages.
