A matter of substance: FLORIDA -- Clarksburg resident Larry Lorusso found a suspicious black substance in December near a Hoosac Wind Project turbine, a mile from his property. He said a test revealed that it contained 281 parts per million "other petroleum."
However, state Department of Environmental Protection tests of the same pool have concluded that the substance is in fact groundwater colored by sediments.

New faces found for library work: ADAMS -- Austin Design Inc, of Colrain, will helm designing future improvements to the Adams Free Library, Town Administrator Jonathan Butler said at a recent Selectmen's meeting.
"The town has not worked with Austin before, but they came with a great concept and have a great portfolio of similar projects they've done in other municipalities," Butler said. "We thought it'd be good to bring somebody new to work with. Anytime you get an opportunity to bring in another company, it's helpful for variety."
