LANESBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -- An exotic lizard valued at $170 has gone missing from Berkshire County pet store and the owner thinks it was stolen.

Tony Cormier of Exotic Pet World in Lanesborough says the orange-eyed crocodile skink was taken either late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

The store's co-owner noticed that one of the store's two skinks was missing as she was cleaning their cage.

Cormier tells The Berkshire Eagle (http://bit.ly/WZ5ef3 ) the cage was not locked, but he's now thinking of installing security cameras.

Skinks can grow as big as 10 inches. They like a cool, moist environment, and eat worms and insects.

Cormier says he hasn't contacted the authorities because he has no proof. But he asks anyone with information to call him.
