Fire station moving forward: WILLIAMSTOWN -- A new fire station is moving closer to becoming a reality.

At a Fire District meeting this week, Prudential Committee member Edward Briggs said the hope is to have a purchase and sale agreement ready by early March. The 3.7 acre parcel being eyed at 562 to 580 Main St., where four rental houses are currently situated, is part of the late Kurt Lehovec's estate.

Three sent to hospital after crash: NORTH ADAMS -- A two-car accident this afternoon on Curran Highway near the former North Adams Plaza reportedly sent three people to the hospital.

Moving through the years with the Mausert Block: ADAMS -- The developers of the Mausert Block plan to soon go live with a decade-by-decade history of the building on their website.

Stephen and Holly Stenson of REDPM have dug into old Transcript articles, connected with descendants of the building's prior owners and compiled a document sure to tickle enthusiasts of local history.

"To us, the history of the building is very useful," Stephen Stenson said. "It reveals things about a building that wouldn't be apparent in a traditional architectural walk-through."
