Free Community Movie: "How to Train Your Dragon"
North Adams Movieplex is offering a free showing of "How to Train Your Dragon."
Doors open at 10 a.m., movie starts at 10:30a.m. For more information, call 413-663-6300.

Children's activity: 10:30 a.m., at North Adams Public Library
Chowder competition: Noon to 2 p.m. Chowder will be available at two locations: 18 Holden St. and 85 Main St. Participants: Gramercy Bistro, The Hub, Boston Seafood, Bounti-Fare, Williams College, North Adams Commons, Aramark, Hops & Vines, Desperados
Zumba: 1 p.m. Zumba Fitness in the Berkshires will dance in the streets, with one song for kids and another for adults. The public is invited to join in.
Free horse-drawn wagon rides: 1 to 3 p.m. Sponsored by Hoosac Bank
Skating dance party: 7 to 9 p.m., at Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Skating Rink. Admission is free.
11th annual "Fat Bastard" Memorial Poker Run
:The 11th annual "Fat Bastard" Memorial Poker Run, held in memory of John Breen, will take place Saturday.
Florida registration: 9 a.m., Derrick Wissman's House, Tilda Hill Road, Florida Call Derrick 413-664-4697 with questions or directions.

This event is sponsored by the Florida Mountaineers with help from the Savoy Kanary Kats and the Adams Sno-Drifters. In past years, the event has raised $20,000 for scholarships and local organizations.
The Allegrettos
The Allegrettos, MCLA's student a capella group, will perform with the Williams College Choir, in the Ellen Furst Roberts Auditorum in the MCLA Church Street Center at 5 p.m.
My Robot Friend
My Robot Friend is a musical and performance art project born from the ashes of the late '90s NYC band Princess (made up of Howard Robot, Miguel Gutierrez, and Autojulie3000), which broke up just before signing on to the legendary label Too Pure (PJ Harvey, Stereolab).

Cheshire Volunteer Fire Dept.'s monthly pancake breakfast
Stop by St. Mary's Church Hall, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Cost: $7 for adults; $6 for seniors and children younger than 5.
There will also be a 50/50 raffle to be drawn at the end of the breakfast. All proceeds from the event go toward the fire department to help with needed equipment and training. All are welcome to attend.
Snowshoe hike at Windsor Lake
The Friends of Windsor Lake are hosting a casual snowshoe hike from 1 to 4 p.m. Meet at the public beach parking lot at 1 p.m., group leaves at 1:30 p.m.
The group hike will end at the Historic Valley Campground Pavillion, with free hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows.
"James and the Giant Peach" Auditions
Auditions at 2 p.m. at the Mill City Theatre in Building 4N, next to the Visitor's Center in Western Gateway Heritage State Park.
Adults of all ages and experience levels are invited to audition. Auditioners will be asked to read scenes from the play; no prepared monologues are necessary.
Rehearsals will begin during the last week of February with performances scheduled for April 19 to 21 and 26 to 28.

Northern Bekshire Cat Rescue Benefit Dinner
Northern Berkshire Cat Resuce hosts a benefit spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction at the PNA, 13 Victory St., Adams from 4 to 7 p.m.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for kids. Tickets will be sold at the door.
Oscar Party at Images Cinema
