Lecture: Williamstown's Notable Fires

Where: Williamstown Historical Museum, Located at the David and Joyce Milne Public Library, 1095 Main Street

What: Stories of the town's notable fires will be told by Fire Chief Craig A. Pedercini.

A graduate of C. H. McCann Technical School, Pedercini holds a degree in fire science. A resident of the town since 1969, he began working at Williams College in 1975 and joined the Williamstown Fire Department in June 1988. He was named chief in 2003.

Pedercini is a past president of the Western Massachusetts Fire Chiefs' Association and a member of the Berkshire County Fire Chiefs' Association, the New England Fire Chiefs' Association. He currently serves on the board of the state fire chiefs' association.

Lecture: "Art History and Materiality"

When: 5:30 p.m.

Where: Clark Art Institute, 225 South Street, Williamstown

What: A public conversation that concludes a colloquium endeavoring to reveal the material underpinnings of art historical thought, both in its past traditions and in its current practices. The colloquium is convened by Jennifer Jane Marshall, assistant professor of North American art at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and Kate Mondloch, associate professor of contemporary art and theory at the University of Oregon.

St. Patrick's Eve Dinner and Dance

When: 5:30 -8:30 p.m

Where: St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, St. Anthony Drive, North Adams

What: Traditional Irish dinner of corned beef and cabbage or ham. Entertainment provided by J.P. Murphy, aong with raffles, games and more.

Tickets: $10 for adults and $6 for children.

Balkan Beat Box at Mass MoCA

When: 8 p.m.

Where: Hunter Center, Mass MoCA

What: Concert by Balkan Beat Box, which first burst out of New York City's underground music scene in 2005 with a self-titled debut album that introduced the world to its Mediterranean-inflected, globalized electronic sound.

Where: Masonic Lodge, 172 Church Street, Adams

What:Naomi Chapter No. 17, Order of Eastern Star's all-you-can-eat breafast. Menu includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, french toast, pancakes (special pancake of the month - blueberry), plus more.

Cost:$7 for adults, $4 for children younger than 10.
