CLARKSBURG - Clarksburg State Park will remain open a little longer than planned.
The state Department of Conservation and Recreation had planned to close the park for the season on Monday, but according to a release from state Rep. Gailanne M. Cariddi, the park will remain open through October.
"I appreciate DCR's willingness to keep the park open past Labor Day. The administration was responsive to my concerns and those of my constituents." Cariddi said.
According to the release, a number of people from the area had contacted her concerned the park would be closing early for the season.
DCR plans to keep the park open through Columbus Day, dependent upon the occupancy rates.
Clarksburg State Park, located at 1199 Middle Road, features 368 acres, including Mausert's Pond and a camping area.
