CUMMINGTON, Mass. (AP) -- The man who died in a motorcycle crash in Cummington on Labor Day has been identified as a member of area school committees.
Police say 55-year-old Brian Miller was driving east on Route 9 at about 3:15 p.m. Monday when he was thrown from his Harley Davidson and down an embankment.
Miller was a member of the Middlefield School Committee and represented the town on the Gateway Regional School Committee.
Cummington Fire Chief Bernard Forgea tells The Daily Hampshire Gazette no other vehicles appeared to have been involved in the accident, despite reports of a car driving erratically in that area.
The accident remains under investigation.
