PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A person arrested in the case of a missing Massachusetts girl found safe with a man in Rhode Island is to appear in federal court in Providence.
Rhode Island U.S. Attorney Peter Neronha said the person will make an initial appearance Friday. No further details were released.
Medfield, Mass., Police Chief Robert Meaney Jr. said earlier that 17-year-old Brittany Thompson was located "safe and unharmed" walking down a Coventry, R.I., street Thursday. Meaney didn't say if it was the same man she was seen leaving the Medfield library with on Monday afternoon.
Brittany's parents had publicly appealed for the return of their developmentally delayed daughter. They said she may have met someone online.
Her father said she was in good spirits after they were reunited Thursday.
