NORTH ADAMS -- First Lt. Harry Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Clark of 943 Massachusetts Ave., has been promoted to captain at Harlingen Air Force Base, Texas. Capt. Clark is an instructor at the Harlingen base. He pilots T-29 transports for training of student navigators. He enlisted in the Air Force in July, 1951.

ADAMS -- Henry Reeves of Savoy was elected president, with Francis DeBlois of Adams as vice president, and Ralph Anthony Jr., also of Adams, as secretary-treasurer, at a meeting of the Berkshire County Forest Wardens Association in Housatonic last night. Fourteen Adams residents were among the 109 members present.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Matthew Skinner and David Sussman were the champions of the A and B divisions, respectively, in the year-end tournament held by the Youth Center Chess Club. Jason Tournet placed second and Aaron Taylor third in the A division, while Matt Walt finished second and Dennis Wysocki third in the B division.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Two members of the Williamstown Equus 4-H group won blue ribbons at the annual county 4-H visual presentation competition conducted April 6 in Pittsfield. Noelle Dudley, 12, daughter of William and Kathy Dudley of 912 Cold Spring Road, competed in the junior division. Lynda Gross, 16, daughter of Lawrence and Marcia Gross of 651 Henderson Road, competed in the senior division.

NORTH ADAMS -- Several employees of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts who have been with the institution for 25 and 35 years, were honored at a recent reception. Honored for 35 years was John Hess, professor of chemistry. Honored for 25 years were Leonard Adelson, Ph.D., associate professor of computer science; Joseph Arabia of the Facilities Department; Janet Bordeaux of the Office of Academic Affairs; Stephen Green, Ph.D., associate dean of academic support services; and Thomas Jones, vice president of administration and finance.

NORTH ADAMS -- Dan Lamontagne and Andrew Lecare each had scores of 276 in the men's bowhunter release this weekend at the indoor 3-D archery shoot. Chris Chasse took third in 274. In the men's bowhunter fingers, Scott Bisbee took first with a 272, John Thomas was second with 270 and Dave Nicholas took third with a 267. In the women's bowhunter release, Tina Samia placed first with a 257, Rita Danforth took second with a 231 and Diane Perras was third with a 215.
