NORTH ADAMS -- A.1.C. Leonard Moreau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Moreau of 394 Union St., has arrived home on a 35-day leave. The local youth has been stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base at Panama City, Fla., for the past 3 1/2 years. At the conclusion of his leave, he will report to McGuire Air Force Base near Trenton, N.J. and from there will leave for overseas duty in England.
CLARKSBURG -- Roland Leach of North Adams was re-elected chairman of the Boy Scout District Committee last night at the Clarksburg Elementary School. Three vice chairmen were voted in at the district committee meeting. They are Theodore Toporowski of Cheshire and Harry Pierpan and Raymond Tarsa, both of North Adams.

NORTH ADAMS -- Seventeen student musicians were recently chosen to represent Drury Senior High School at the annual Massachusetts Western District Music Festival at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst Jan. 5 and 12, 1984. Accepted into the district chorus were Laini Sporbert, Brenda Testasecca, Lori Cain, Julie Racette, Kim Lescarbeau, Karen Steuer, Craig Chicoine and Shawn Dobbert. The concert band will include Suzette Cote, Louis Axt, Jeff Foster, Jim Chalfonte, Dave Diaz and Chris Puccio. The jazz band will include Mike Coyne, Jason Carlisle and Paul DiLego.

CLARKSBURG -- In the Rum Dum Tournament at North Adams Country Club, Jon Denault, Rob Stack, Nate Tatro and David Bond took first in gross with a 61. Coming in second with a 62 were Al Volpi, John Gaffey, Rich Lesniak and Craig Rougeau. Taking first in net with a 47 were Cuba Roy, Wayne Lincoln, Ed Matys and Mark Clarke. Coming in second with a 48 were John Segala, Bob Waltermire, Charles Moran and Jerry Desmarais.
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Fifteen students at Mount Greylock Regional High School have been named Advanced Placement Scholars by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level AP Examinations. They are Laura Anderson, Philip Bartels, Rebecca Bradburd, Ingrid Erickson, Daniel Miller, Bryan Muir, Paola Peacock, Elizabeth Ware, Cosmo Catalano, Amanda Cook, Tyler DeWitt, Lindsey Murtagh, Jessica Atcheson, Benjamin Erickson and Rebecca Joffe-Halpern.
