NORTH ADAMS -- Burton Richards, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Richards of 93 Bracewell Ave., will receive a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from Northeastern University at ceremonies tomorrow. Under the school’s co-operative plan, Richards has been employed as a student planning and methods engineer at the Sprague Electric Co.
ADAMS -- Seven members of Adams Lodge of Elks are at Chicopee attending the annual three-day convention of the Massachusetts State Elks’ Association at Schine Inn. The group consists of Exalted Ruler Richard Ouellette; William Greilich, leading knight; Harold Bush, loyal knight; Earl Baker, past exalted ruler; Harry Perreault, inner guard, James Clarke, past district deputy grand exalted ruler; and Leo Pinsonneault, official delegate.

NORTH ADAMS -- Alicia Noel, daughter of Margaret Davenport of 148 Prospect St., is one of 25 students in the state to received a Christian A. Herter Memorial Scholarship. Noel, a sophomore at Drury Senior High School, achieved semi-finalist status in March, and after a required interview at Westfield State College, was notified of her finalist status this month.
NORTH ADAMS -- John Velyvis of North Adams competed as part of the Harvard University crew that took a second place at the Empire State Regatta in Albany. He is a 1984 graduate of Drury High

NORTH ADAMS -- Angela Harpin, daughter of David and Ann Harpin of 209 Veazie St., has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester a the University of New England. She is majoring in marine biology and is a 2001 graduate of Drury High School.
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Berkshire Country Day’s Secondary School held a graduate and awards ceremony on June 7. Julia Kleederman of Williamstown received the Athletics Prize and the Growth in the Study of English Prize.
