WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Milne Public Library in Williamstown is pleased to host local musician and teacher Otha Day for the first performance of the summer reading programs, "Dream Big -- READ!" and teen program "Own the Night." On Tuesday, July 3 at 4 p.m., northern Berkshire families are invited to join Otha in the courtyard for an hour of drumming up some energy for our seven-week reading festivals. Come early to choose from one of about 200 percussion instruments Otha brings, from the largest kettle-type drum to the smallest rhythm sticks. He will also teach hand and body tapping to create jazzy riffs.
An accomplished musician, Day has been teaching privately and in local schools for many years. This will be his third appearance at the library. His show is designed for people of all ages, and everyone is encouraged to take part. You don’t have to be a summer reader or even a kid to enjoy this show.
