NORTH ADAMS -- Three members of the Police De partment reserve force and two members of the Fire De partment reserve force have been certified as eligible for ap pointments to the permanent forces by the state Civil Service Commission. Certified as eligible for a Police Department ap pointment are Donald Morin, William Morandi and Roger Prevey. Certified as eligible for the Fire Department appointment are John Garner and Robert Teichert. WILLIAMSTOWN -- Mini atures owned by two Adams women were among the novice dogs who received certificates at graduation exercises of the Northern Berkshire Dog Train ing Club at the Williams College baseball cage. Re cipients were Mrs. C. Bernard Hamberg’s miniature poodle "Ragtime Bo Bo," and Mrs. Bernard Mimno’s miniature pug, "Suzie Wong."

NORTH ADAMS -- Staff Sgt. Donald Wright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Wright of 1312 Massachusetts Ave., has been assigned to the U.S. Air Force "Thunderbirds," Air De monstration Squadron. Sgt. Wright, an Egress Systems tech nician, spent three years at R.A.F. Upper Heyford, England and one year at Cannon A.F.B, Clovis, N.M., before being selected to the U.S.A.S. Thunderbirds.

ADAMS -- Richard Guettler, chairman of the board of directors of the Adams Cooperative Bank, has announced the election of Stephen Nelson to the bank’s board of directors. Nelson, of 41 Marion Ave., North Adams, serves as the president of Excelsior Printing Co. as well as manager of commercial printing, business and social papers and Crane & Co.
NORTH ADAMS -- In recent action of the North Adams Little League, Morrison Berkshire beat Greylock Club, 13-1. Morrison pitchers Steve Gray and Paul St. Pierre allowed just two hits and struck out nine batters combined. Ryan O’Brien had two RBIs as did St. Pierre, while Nick Andrews had two hits. Kirby Williams had the only hits for Greylock.
