The road ahead for Foxwood Lane: WILLIAMSTOWN -- Resident Charles Fox has been allowed by the Land Court to appeal the Williamstown Planning Board's decision on five issues that were remanded back to the board concerning Fox's Foxwood Lane subdivision. Fox said Thursday that once a Land Court judge hears the appeal and issue a ruling, the ruling will be added to the court record. At that point, a judge can make a final decision as to whether Fox can move forward with the project.

Gordon likely to get top nod: CHESHIRE -- The Adams-Cheshire Regional School District committee plans to ink a two-and-a-half-year contract with Superintendent candidate Kristen

Committee Chairman Paul Butler said Gordon, who is principal at C.T. Plunkett Ele mentary School, "has a natural tendency to positive leadership" and has shown promise since she began studying under Superintendent Alfred Skrocki earlier this year.

On the road again: ADAMS -- A memorial motorcycle poker run to benefit the Martin "Marty" Chittenden Education Trust Fund will be held, rain or shine, on Sunday, June 24.

Plan for a new principal: STAMFORD, Vt. -- The local school district has begun advertising for a new elementary school principal.

Cynthia Lamore, chairwoman of the board of School Directors, said Thursday that the board hasn't set a deadline for the submission of applications, but will review applications that have been submitted at its July 5 meeting. While they hope to have a principal in place by the beginning of the 2012-13 school year on Aug. 27, the board has considered the possibility that an interim principal may be needed, she said.
