Reaching above and beyond: NORTH ADAMS -- For the first time in five years, the Northern Berkshire Y has not only met but exceeded its "Reach Out for Youth" fundraising campaign goal. The money goes toward scholarships for youth sports, swim lessons, memberships and summer camps. The camps kicked off this week. The dedication of the Y's volunteers was credited for successfully reaching the goal of $40,000.

Voisey heads to his next venture: NORTH ADAMS -- Before artist Ven Voisey bids adieu to the Berkshires after living and working here since 2003, he has one final showing of his work, "Vs.," which opens at MCLA Gallery 51 on Thursday.
Voisey, who arrived from the San Francisco Bay Area and has worked at various arts venues -- including the Contemporary Artists Center and Mass MoCA -- is leaving for an artist-in-residence program in Roswell, N.M.
