ADAMS -- The town may see a new Asian cuisine restaurant installed on Park Street this summer, as the Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved a special permit for a to-be-named eatery at its Tuesday meeting.
The permit is for 39 to 45 Park St., a space owned by Samuel Adams Enterprises, LLC -- registered in the name of Gerry Sanchez in the Massachusetts Corporations Division database -- and is near the Jones Block building.
The former owners of the building were Thomas and Noella Carlow.
Xiang Lin Chen, who will operate the proposed restaurant, sought the permit.
"We’ll be serving regular Chinese food and Japanese hibachi," Chen said at the meeting. "The restaurant hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., seven days a week. It will have both takeout and booth and table seating for 40 to 50 people."
Planned parking areas are on Park Street and in the lot behind the building.
The Zoning Board granted the permit with little discussion.
"Looks pretty cut and dry to me," member Michael Mach said. "Welcome to town and good luck."
The Building Inspector’s office is preparing a 14-day decision notice, and the town clerk will follow with a 20-day appeal period before the decision is made official.
