Triad to meet Wednesday

NORTH ADAMS -- The next Triad meeting will be Wednesday, June 27 at noon at the American Legion.

The guest speaker will be Terrie Drew, outreach and education coordinator for the Mass Senior Medicare Patrol, speaking about preventing health care errors, fraud and abuse. She will speak from 1 to 2 p.m.

All seniors from surrounding towns are welcome.

The raffle in May was won by Bob Allard and Marie Davis.

Lt. David Sacco spoke about the ROPES program and the large turnout for the fifth- and sixth-graders. He said the five-day program sees mentors from other years come and help with the program.

Information was also shared on sharps disposal. Little’s and Nassif’s will take sharps if you are a customer, or go to the police department any day of the week to drop off expired medication.

Lori Ke, RN BSN, certified nutritionist specialist, gave a health education lecture on what foods to eat and the ones to avoid for optimal well-being. She covered topics such as reducing cholesterol, lowering blood sugar, preventing cancer and decreasing the need for oral diabetic medication.
