Chris Derby-Kilfoyle and Joe Arabia identified Marc Freedman of Williamstown as the man in this Mystery Photo. Chris added he believed Freedman was discussing his around-the-world bike trip -- and he was right. The original caption explained he was showing Williamstown Elementary School students the bicycle he used to travel over 30,000 miles in eight years through 53 countries and six continents. Freedman, a ‘78 NASC graduate, said what was supposed to be a two-year trip on a mountain bike turned into an eight-year adventure. The photo originally ran May 1, 1996.
