NORTH ADAMS -- Two brothers, members of Troop 33 of the First Baptist Church, were awarded the Eagle Scout badge last night at a court of honor held at the church. They are Robert and Richard Tefft, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Tefft of 19 Elder Ave. The Eagle badge is the highest earned rank that a scout can achieve. NORTH ADAMS -- Sp. 4 Anthony Donovan of the U.S. Army, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Donovan of 171 Hough ton St., is on his way home after completing his three-year enlistment. He has been serving in Germany since March 14, 1960, with a guided missile unit. He left there June 16. Donovan enlisted June 29, 1959 and had two months of basic training at Fort Benning, Ga.

NORTH ADAMS -- Tanz man-Maselli put on an awesome display of hitting as it defeated Classic Cuts 11-4 in the Women’s P&R softball league. Julie Willette was the top hitter for T-M, going 3-for-4. Karen Murach, Maria Stew ard and Pat St. Pierre all went 2-for-3. Teresa Greer, Pearl Armstrong and Jill Moncecchi each went 2-for-4 for Classic Cuts.

READSBORO, Vt. -- The Brownies of Readsboro presented awards to six Brownies who attended awards night June 24 at the Walter L. Case American Legion Post home. NORTH ADAMS -- In Northern Berkshire Girls Soft ball League action, Morrison Berkshire beat North Adams cleaning, 21-7. Angela Ames led the offensive attack with a single, double and three runs scored. Tiffany Hartlage scor ed three times and Kelsey Malloy scored twice. Kristen Gancarz and Brittany Sage each scored two runs for the Cleaners.

READSBORO, Vt. -- A team of 12 Readsboro Central School student-athletes participated in the seventh annual Deerfield Valley Fitness Day activities recently. They were Clinton Birch, Crystal Mag nus sen, Drew Boudreau, Ellen Floriani, Ronin Magnussen, Angela Sarzen, Scott Birch, Karen Whitham, Jonathan Deblois, Ashley Lawless, Jesse Rice and Brittany Poulen.
