NORTH ADAMS -- The following cases were heard in Northern Berkshire District Court on Wednesday:

* Daniel E. McLain, 31, of Hall Street in North Adams, was arraigned on three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and assault with a dangerous weapon. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for July 17.

A warrant was issued for the following person:

* Christopher D. Chapin, 32, of Ashland Street in North Adams, on charges of shoplifting by asportation, second-offense, and failure to return library materials.
