MVP Andrew Leitch MVP BY THE NUMBERS Leitch was a mainstay on the mound. He finished with an 8-1 record. When Leitch toed the rubber, it was certain he'd be out there a while. He threw 54 inn. As the No. 4 hitter, Leitch had plenty of chances for RBI and finished with 26. |
Mike Chappell "I think just Mike being on the team and Mike being around the players brings energy. He brings the energy and brings the attitude of wanting to win. Just putting Mike as a pitcher in our books, we as a team felt confident. We just felt confident that he would go out there and find a way to get a nice win for us." - Coach Pat Ryan |
Tanner Bird "Tanner had a good year. He hit the ball very well early on and he had nothing to show for it. Tanner stuck with it and gutted it out. He was hitting well for us and was one of the few guys producing at the end. Defensively, he relies a lot more on his arm." - Coach Bob Rivard |
![]() Eric Leitch "Having a kid that you can put anywhere on the field is so important. Eric is not good everywhere, he's great. He makes the routine plays, and he makes the tough plays. A lot times he makes them look easy. He has the nicest hands, he's smooth. he's got a strong arm." - Coach Steve Messina |
Mike Koperniak "You knew you were going to get five or six strong innings out of him and a lot of times he was overpowering. We were confident in sending him out there early on in the season. We knew he was going to give a good battle and really fight the entire time that he was out there on the mound. He wants to compete." - Coach Bob Rivard |
Zach Lancia "He was our leading hitter. I had him hitting in the two spot most of the year and dropped him down to the four spot late in the season. He wasn't your prototypical four hitter. He hit a lot of line drives and that's what we needed at the time. We made him an outfielder, he was originally a catcher." - Coach Bob Rivard |
Nick DiSanti "He's a very tough kid. He's very dependable, and that's a tough thing to find in a catcher, especially since he's only a sophomore. It's a lot to ask from a kid to go out there and catch a good game. Anything they provide offensively is kind of a bonus. He really did a great job and was solid all year long." - Coach Steve Messina |
Matt Braman "Matty made some really nice plays out there. Especially playing at night, you didn't even realize he caught it. I was very pleased with him coming up as a sophomore and playing the way he did. He was getting on base, and that's what we needed from him as a leadoff man." - Coach Bob Rivard |
Max Quinn "Max was our No. 4 batter in the order and really consistent. He performed better in the clutch than he did with no one on base and leading off an inning. He also did a nice job on the mound for us. He pitched a bunch of big games. He's just a grinder, not real flashy, just consistent. He would have performed well at any position." - coach Al Marceau |
Sean Houston "Sean is really unbelievable out there. He tracks down everything. Any ball hit out there he can catch. ... He's smooth out there. He gets good jumps, he's got a good strong arm. He's just a really talented outfielder. He got on base well from the leadoff slot." - Coach Steve Messina |
Robert Jutras "[Jutras] hit .314 this year and drove in 12 runs for us. He and Max [Quinn] were basically the heart and sole of our team. Jutras is very calm when a ball gets hit to him. That really makes the pitchers feel good. He's played a terrific second base for the last three seasons. He really provides great leadership on the field." - Coach Al Marceau |
Billy Pulasky "He was like the heartbeat of our team. He hit third four us all year. He's just a solid kid - solid at the plate, solid defensively. He had a lot of big hits for us. He's a very tough kid. With Eric [Leitch] at short and Billy at second, that's tough up the middle. He has a lot of nice range." - Coach Steve Messina |
