ADAMS -- 2nd Lt. Richard Carlow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Carlow, of 137 Friend St., left today for the provost marshall school on intelligence for military police at Camp Gordon, Ga., where he will be stationed about four months prior to overseas duty in Germany. Lt. Carlow was one of 19 out of 1,000 cadets in the Boston College ROTC picked as a Distinguished Military Student cadet. NORTH ADAMS -- Pfc. James Sprowson, son of Mrs. William Sprowson, of 100 West Main St., left this morning for a 22-month assignment in Ger many. He has been home on leave for the past 30 days. Pvt. Sprowson enlisted in the army in February, 1959, and received his basic training at Fort Dix, N.J., and received special training in heavy equipment at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

NORTH ADAMS -- Kath leen Wysocki with Peebles Jewel Shop, 10 Berkshire Plaza, has completed a course in diamonds with the Gemological Institute of America based in Santa Monica, Calif. She has been awarded the institute’s prestigious Diamonds Certifi cate. To complete the diamonds course, Ms. Wysocki was asked to master a range of information and skills.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Four employees of Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown received a total of $5,090 in scholarships during ceremonies a Sweet Brook on June 12. Scholarships are offered as memorial gifts from families and friends of Sweet Brook and the Residents’ Council. Scholarship winners are Amy Ritcher, Lisa Trumble, Sam antha Ritcher and Scott Doerle.
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Four Williamstown Savings Bank employees -- Lara LaBatt, Kathleen Luczynski, Shannon Tatro and Debra Wooley -- have been named to officer positions. LaBatt has been promoted to commercial loan officer, Luczynski to vice president of operations, Tatro to retail loan operations officer and Wooly to controller.
