NORTH ADAMS -- studio21south opened Thurs day, June 28, at 40 Eagle St., after a couple of seasons in the Beaver Mill.

The gallery features classic Americana-style paintings of downtown North Adams by Thor Wickstrom, life-size pastel figures by acclaimed artist Sam Goodsell, Brooklyn cityscapes, and more. Other gallery artists include Eric March, Bob Lafond and Frank Curran.

Several of the artists work locally on site, and Berkshire landscapes and Tanglewood scenes are always on hand.

The new downtown location will allow studio21south to participate more fully in Downstreet Art. Now in its fifth season, DownStreet Art brings pop-up galleries and art in public spaces to downtown North Adams. Openings will be held in all the DownStreet Art venues on the fourth Thursday each month, including studio21south.

"Summer" runs through July. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday, from 12 to 6 p.m.; Sunday, from 12 to 2 p.m., and most weekdays and other times by appointment or by chance, 413-652-4815; studio21south@ gmail.com; or www.studio21 south.blogspot.com.
