PITTSFIELD -- North Adams Post 125 strengthened its hold on second place with a 7-6 win over Tyler Aces on Thursday.

Robert Jutras came through with an RBI single in the top of the eighth, driving in Chase Preite for the eventual game-winning run.

"When he got up, he got key hits," coach Bob Rumbolt said. "He scored two earlier in the game. Then he gets another single in the eighth to win it for us.

"The kid’s just on fire with his bat."

North Adams needed a run in the top of the seventh to stay alive, though. With runners at second and third with one out, Slayter Aubin tagged up and headed for home on a blooper into shallow right field. The first baseman caught it, but a wild throw allowed him to score.

Jutras finished the game 3 for 5 and also earned the win on the mound after coming on in the fourth inning. Preite was 3 for 3.
