NORTH ADAMS -- The following cases were heard in Northern Berkshire District Court on Friday:

* Donald J. Baum Jr., 30, of Francis Street in North Adams, was arraigned on charges of assault and battery, witness intimidation, violating an abuse prevention order and breaking and entering a building during the day for a felony. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 1.

* Shanika S. Sims, 22, of West Shaft Road in North Adams, was arraigned on a charge of violating a harassment prevention order. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 17.

* Robert Dunn, 37, of Milton, Fla., was arraigned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, endangering a child while operating under the influence of liquor and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 17.

* Brooklyne R. Schneider, 18, of Furnace Street in North Adams, was arraigned on charges of assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 10.

* Pascual Caputi, 23, of White Plains, N.Y., was arraigned on charges of two counts sending obscene matter, one count accosting or annoying a person of the opposite sex, one

count criminal harassment and one count stalking. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for July 27.

* Douglas B. Thompson, 26, of Fred Mason Road in Cheshire, was arraigned on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor (OUI), subsequent offense, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license for OUI, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and a miscellaneous equipment violation. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for July 10.

* Khristyna A. Keating, 21, of Monroe Road in Florida, was arraigned on charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, failure to drive in the right lane and failure to stop or yield. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for July 27.

* Joseph W. Martin, 19, of Sayles Street in Adams, was arraigned on charges of two counts assault and battery on a police officer, one count operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, one count operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, one count breaking and entering a motor vehicle at night for a felony, one count possession of burglarious tools, one count transporting or possession of alcohol as a minor and one count malicious destruction of property under $250. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for July 27.
