NORTH ADAMS -- The city has announced that it is in need of donations to help defray the cost of the Fourth of July fireworks display.

"While we have received some $6,000 in donations, we are under our goal of $14,000 that is needed to cover the costs of the event," Director of Tourism & Community Events Veronica Bosley said in a news release.

"Contributions sustain this event and I am so appreciative to all that donate to make our celebration so spectacular," Mayor Richard Alcombright added.

Top-level contributors in clude Whitney’s Beverage Shop, MountainOne Financial Partners and Greylock Federal Credit Union.

Donations for the Fourth of July fireworks are accepted at any level and can be sent to the North Adams Office of Tourism & Community Events, 6 West Main St. All checks should be made payable to the City of North Adams.
