NORTH ADAMS -- The North Adams Triad met Wednesday, June 27, at the American Legion, with 54 attending. Guests from Florida, Adams, North Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Williamstown and Stamford, Vt., were present.
The meeting began with a luncheon.
The Dalton picnic will be held July 18. Members attending are asked to wear their shirts and to sign up at the Spitzer Center for a ride with the van.
Sign-up for refreshments for the annual Aug. 25 picnic will be held at the July meeting.
Members who have not signed up for the King Ward Bus Lines newsletter should do so and give the requests to President Pearl Mullett to be mailed.
Guest speaker Caroline Cole, volunteer coordinator and media liaison from the Senior Medicare Patrol program in Lawrence, spoke about preventing health care errors, fraud and abuse. She also stressed members should always read their Medicare bills and confirm them, and report any errors.
Deputy Bob Wadsworth spoke about the sharps program and said they can still be left at the North Adams Police Department, along with any unused or expired drugs. He also spoke about bringing communities together in Triad.
