NORTH ADAMS -- Two people were taken to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident in front of Wheel Estates Saturday afternoon.
Kenneth Rysz, 56, and Elizabeth Bidwell, 52, both of Adams, were taken by ambulance to North Adams Reg ional Hospital for complaints of pain, according to police. An update on their statuses was unavailable Sunday night.
Sgt. James Burdick said Sunday night that Rysz was driving a blue, 2007 GMC Sierra north on Church Street when it was hit by the car Bidwell was driving, which was exiting Sterling Drive at the entrance of Wheel Estates. Bidwell’s blue, 2010 Honda Fit failed to stop and collided with the rear passenger tire area of the Sierra, causing it to overturn, he said. Bidwell was cited with failure to grant right of ways, and both vehicles were towed from the scene, he said.
Besides the North Adams Police Department, Clarks burg Police, North Adams Ambulance Service, and the North Adams Fire Depart ment also responded to the accident, which was reported at 12:35 p.m.
