Over a dozen volunteers made quick work of the de-installation of the "Field of Flags" on the lawn of the First Congregational Church in North Adams on Thursday. The flags, part of an installation honoring America's fallen soldiers from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, had been on exhibit since June 29 and 11 more flags had to be added in memory of the war dead. At total of 6,516 flags were gathered.

The flags will be bundled in the church dining room starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday. From there, they will be shipped to the next location for display.
