ADAMS -- Stanley Brodalski defeated Joe Lipinski on the 19th hole to win the President’s Cup at Forest Park Country Club in Adams donated by Max Liebich. Brodalski was leading one up after nine holes but was one down after 16 holes. Brodalski tied the match on the 18th. Joe Tavares was the winner of the second division, defeating Gene Hagen 4 and 3. ADAMS -- First Sgt. William Rougeau, of 116 Howland Ave., of the 1059th Transportation Tactical Carrier Co., was notified of his official promotion to that grade from that of acting first sergeant. Sgt. Rougeau, who has served in the national Guard for the past 15 years, is employed full time as administrative, supply and maintenance technician at the State Armory.

CLARKSBURG -- Ernest Taft of Southernview Drive has been chosen to serve in the newly-created part-time position of Clarksburg town accountant. Mr. Taft, one of three persons interviewed for the job by selectmen, was the board’s unanimous choice. For the first year, Mr. Taft will oversee implementation of a new accounting system for the town.

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Three real estate brokers have formed a new partnership and opened their office at 622 Main St. The new firm is aptly named Williamstown Realty. The three northern Berkshire residents, all veteran brokers who have dealt with commercial and residential real estate, are

NORTH ADAMS -- In recent action from the North Adams Men’s Basketball League, Percision Painting got past Broderick Electric 71-63. Keith Czubryt led the way for Percision with 22 points, while Geoff Kondel added 15 points and Chad Misiuk netted 13. Lou Cuyler topped Brod erick’s scoring with 17 points, while Ryan Mauer scored 15 and Tom Moore added 12.

NORTH ADAMS -- In recent action from the North Adams Men’s Basketball Lea gue, Stanley Lumber defeated Hoosac Bank 69-60. Joe Verski scored 25 points for Stanley, while Jesse Hakes netted 19 and Todd Hamilton scored 13. Chris Bullet led Hoosac Bank with 13 points and Alf Barbalunga chipped in with 11 points.
