The top of the Mountain: NORTH ADAMS -- MountainOne Financial Partners has named Tom Leavitt as its new CEO and president. He will begin on Sept. 4. Leavitt, who currently serves as executive vice president for operations at Merchants Bank in Vermont, replaces departing CEO and President Steve Crowe, who will retire at the end of the year.

Boy on a mission: ADAMS -- Ethan Daley, and eight-year-old local boy, has been cleaning up litter at C.T. Plunkett Elementary School's Wacky World playground for weeks. He vows to continue "until everyone stops littering."

OUI arrest: NORTH ADAMS -- David W. Cantoni, 57, of Ryan Street in North Adams, was arrested early Sunday morning for operating under the influence of liquor (OUI). The charge represents Cantoni's ninth OUI arrest, with several coming from out of state.

Next stop: Vegas: ADAMS -- The Viking Pub's crown pool team will again cross cues with the nation's best in Las Vegas next month.
For the third time, "It's All Tom's Fault" has earned a spot at the American Poolplayers Association 8-Ball Team Classic tournament in Vegas, having fought their way through local and then state qualifiers in Clinton, where members competed against teams from cities like Holyoke and Chicopee. The team is one of only 10 in the state who qualified.
