Spruces owner steps back from courtroom: WILLIAMSTOWN -- The owner of The Spruces Mobile Home Park has withdrawn a motion that sought court orders to address issues related to the future of the park following Tropical Storm Irene.

Town Manager Peter Fohlin said Tuesday that Town Counsel Patricia Cantor of Kopelman and Paige P.C. informed him that Morgan Management has withdrawn its motion for injunctive relief, thus canceling an Aug. 9 hearing scheduled on the matter in Berkshire Superior Court in Pittsfield.

NAHA tightening up security: NORTH ADAMS -- The North Adams Housing Authority has installed a second round of cameras at its properties around the city

In addition, a new tower being placed on top of the Ashland Park Apartments will allow for a microwave connection -- a type of high-speed Internet connection -- that will allow the North Adams Police to view the camera footage in real time.

Nuciforo contrasts himself with Neal: PITTSFIELD -- Congressional candidate Andrea F. Nuciforo met with Transcript and Berkshire Eagle staff today at The Eagle's offices.

Nuciforo's shared his views on a number of issues, and highlighted the areas in which he differs from incumbent U.S. Rep. Richard Neal, D-Springfield.

Shein's solutions: PITTSFIELD -- Also visiting at The Eagle's office today was congressional candidate Bill Shein, of Alford.

Mr. Shein took the opportunity to detail the systemic problems with government that he intends to work at correcting should he effectively win the First Berkshire District in the Sept. 6 primary. There is no Republican challenger for the seat.

Committee looks again at Conte: NORTH ADAMS -- The North Adams School Building Committee reviewed site plans for the renovation of Silvio O. Conte Middle School into a K-7 school tonight.
