Man caught in explosion in critical condition: NORTH ADAMS -- A city man injured in an explosion at 497 Daniels Road on Monday night is in critical condition at Albany Medical Center, according to hospital officials.

The victim, Anthony Randall, 24, of Daniels Road, suffered a serious head injury from the blast, and was airlifted by helicopter to the New York hospital after a swift and potentially life-saving response by both neighbors and city emergency personnel.

Early investigation indicates that a fuel tank was the source of the blast.

Going (back to) green: NORTH ADAMS -- A parking lot at the south end of the Hadley Overpass, put in to replace

parking taken up by construction under the bridge, will be removed beginning Friday. The lot will be restored to a greenspace. However, spaces added at the north end of Heritage State Park will remain intact.

The housing trust's first board: WILLIAMSTOWN -- Five residents -- including three town officials -- will make up the town's municipal affordable housing trust fund's first board of trustees.

Selectman Thomas Sheldon, Chairwoman of the Affordable Housing Committee Catherine Yamamoto, Planning Board Member Richard DeMayo, Fred Puddester and Stanley Parese were unanimously appointed Monday night by the Selectmen to manage the trust fund.
