AG signs off on housing trust fund: WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Massachusetts Attorney General's Office has approved the establishment of Williamstown's Municipal Affordable Housing Trust Fund.
The approval was needed after Town Meeting voted to establish the trust fund in May because it was an addition to local bylaws. Selectman Thomas Sheldon said Tuesday that with the state approving the trust fund, the fund's board of trustees can now meet.

Stetson-Sawyer expected to end on schedule: WILLIAMSTOWN -- The opening of Williams College's new library remains on track for the fall 2014 semester, according to a college official.

"We're giving ourselves ample time on the back end of this to make sure we're ready for the late August, early September opening," he said.

Hoosac opens its halls: CHESHIRE -- Members of the public have a chance to visit and tour the newly renovated Hoosac Valley High School building next week, as Adams-Cheshire Regional School District Superintendent Alfred Skrocki announced several open houses at Monday's school district meeting.
The first, for middle school parents and students, is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 30, at 5:30 p.m., followed by a second at 6:30 p.m. for the general public. An open house for retirees of the district will by held the following morning at 9:30 a.m., and on Saturday, Sept. 1, a second tour for the public is scheduled for 10 a.m.
"We'll have member of the building committee there to get people in smaller groups so everybody has a chance to ask questions," Skrocki said.
