WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Greylock A Better Chance program will hold its giant household linen sale on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the First Congregational Church at 906 Main St.
Traditionally part of the ABC Clothing Sale, the linen de part ment has grown so large that it now constitutes a separate sale. The gently used merchandise will include sheets, towels, comforters, blankets, bed skirts, bed pads, bed pillows, decorative pillows, small rugs, light curtains, laundry bags, and table linens.
In addition to items for the bed, bath, closet, and table, some clothing to wear in the bedroom will be offered -- robes, pajamas, slippers and stuffed animals.
All the merchandise is excellent condition. All sheets, towels, pajamas, stuffed animals, and many other items have been washed by ABC volunteers.
At the end of the sale, at 1 p.m., shoppers may buy a large bag for $15 and fill it with whatever remains unsold.
This sale and the ABC Clothing Sale, which will follow on Saturday, Sept. 29, benefit Greylock A Better Chance, an organization founded in Williamstown 44 years ago to bring up to six students of color to live and go to school during the academic year.
The scholars live with a resident director in a house on Hox sey Street and attend Mt. Grey l ock Regional High School.
