NORTH ADAMS -- A free four-week series for parents, "The Secrets of Positive Discipline," will be presented by the Family Resource Center on Mondays, Sept. 24, and Oct. 1, 15 and 22, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at Haskins Community Center, 210 State St.
Positive discipline is an excellent reference for families with young children. The key to positive discipline is not punishment, but mutual respect. In this series, parents will discover how to identify communication gaps, defuse power struggles, build on strengths -- not weaknesses -- and win cooperation at home.
