Triad holds picnic; meeting set Sept. 26

NORTH ADAMS -- The North Adams Triad held its annual picnic on Aug. 22 on the Spitzer Center grounds with 54 members attending.

Deputy Sheriff Bob Wads worth was at the grill, assisted by Mary Shogry Hayer. Guests included District Attorney David Capeless, Sheriff Tom Bowler, Mayor Richard Al combright, state Rep. Gail anne Cariddi, and Marie Harpin.

Members were reminded they may still sign up for the Berkshire County Seniors Travel Club. The first trip was held on Sept. 4 with two full buses leaving from North Adams and another full bus leaving from Adams and be yond, headed to the Mohegan Sun Casino. The next meeting will be held Sept. 26, at noon, at the American Legion. The refreshment committee will be Jean ette Vincelette, Margaret Sucharzewski, Peggy Slade and Nancy Spaniol.

Guest speakers will be Officer Burkel from the Massachusetts State Police, who will discuss senior suicide prevention, and Cariddi, who will speak about money requests received in the mail addressed to seniors.

New members and guests are always welcome.
