NORTH ADAMS -- The Department of Conservation & Recreation’s Visitors Mu seum at Western Gateway Heritage State Park will offer an Autumn Equinox Astron omy illustrated lecture, "Comets!," on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 2 p.m.

This illustrated lecture will explore the science, history and culture of comets. These mysterious visitors of the night sky were both omens of doom and catalysts of scientific curiosity.

Western Gateway Heritage State Park is located south of the Hadley Overpass on Route 8. The Visitors Museum is in building No. 4.
