CHESHIRE -- Danielle Beauchemin initiated the scoring just 90 seconds into the game and the rest of the Hoosac Valley girls' soccer team followed in rapid succession, as the Hurricanes built a four-goal lead before the game was 10 minutes old en route to a 7-0 thumping of visiting Mount Everett.
Meg Rodowicz scored Hoosac's second tally and Courtney Hayer, playing in the midfield as opposed to her normal sweeper position, scored a pair before relieving Meg Richardson in goal. Lily Kronick rounded out the five-goal first half with her first varsity goal 19 minutes into the game.
Richardson also made the most of her time in the field, scoring Hoosac's two second half goals about 5 minutes apart. She finished with one save. Hayer had none. It was quite the opposite for Eagles' keeper Samantha Hoover, as she was called upon to turn away 17 Hurricane shots.
Drury golf
LENOX -- Cam Besse was medalist with a 37 at Cranwell to lead undefeated Lenox over Drury, 159-181 on Thursday.
"Cam has been working very hard on his game this year, and it's starting to show," said Lenox coach Dick Salinetti. "And, of course, Tom Villetto was his usual steady self. I'm pleased with our progress so far."
Greylock golf
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Led by Devin Farnum, the Mount Everett golf team picked up a close 186-193 win over the Mounties -- it's first of the year -- at the par-36 Waubeeka Country Club.

GREAT BARRINGTON -- The Mount Everett volleyball team won all three sets from Greylock 25-20, 25-22 and 25-19 to earn the straight-set win on its home court.
The Mounties led 13-16 in the third set but the Spartans (4-3, 3-3) outscored Greylock 12-3 to win the set and the match.
"We're a senior team out there. We cover the court well," said Monument coach Steve Piazzo. "They have a lot of young kids who are still learning the game."
For Monument, Nicole Keefner had five kills, nine assists and three digs. Meaghan Prince had 10 assists and two digs, while Rachel Couser had five kills and two digs.
For Greylock, Michala Dean led the way with 17 kills, 10 assists, 14 digs and four aces. Jenna Markland had 15 digs, and Kelsey Hadley chipped in with two kills and eight digs.
MCLA women's soccer
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Keshia Devoe scored a pair of goals and Lindsay Borbolla added a goal and two assists as the MCLA women's soccer team dominated Albany College of Pharmacy, 4-0.
Devoe got the scoring started with a goal 65 seconds into the game. But despite outshooting the hosts 9-6 in the half, the Trailblazers didn't score again.
In the second half , Borbolla tallied at 54:35, and seven minutes later, Ashlee Scofield added another score. Devoe's second goal came with three minutes left in the game. Danielle Heinsohn had seven saves for the shutout. MCLA is now 2-4, while Albany falls to 4-2.
MCLA men's golf
WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Trailblazers opened up the 2012 season with their own tournament at Waubeeka Golf Links. They placed fourth with a total score of 359. Rhode Island College took home both of the top honors, claiming the team title, while anchorman Kyle Harper was the medalist with a 3-over 74.
RIC had four players break 80 en route to a team total of 306 to easily outdistance Westfield State by 22 shots. Cobleskill was next with 329.
Trailblazer Taylor Dunn ha a nice round finishing a shot back of Harper in a tie for second with RIC's Pat Ford. Dunn shot an even-par 35 on the front side before coming home in 40.
