Paint the town: NORTH ADAMS -- Highlighting the fourth installment of DownStreet Art this year will be the unveiling of a public mural inspired by the types of rock used to build the city.

Jonathan Secor, director of special programs at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, said Wednesday "That’s Gneiss," a work by North Adams-based artist Melissa Matsuki Lillie, will be unveiled at 6 p.m. on Holden Street. Lillie’s work is the final installment of a mural project, which included murals on the back of the Mohawk Theater, the side of the Northern Berkshire Juvenile Court building along Center Street and under the Veterans Memorial Bridge on Marshall Street.

College procures American Legion building: WILLIAMSTOWN -- Williams College has purchased the American Legion building on Latham Street.

Frederick Puddester, vice president of Finance and Administration at Williams, said Tuesday that the Legion approached the college about purchasing the building, and the purchase was finalized on Monday. The Legion will be able to lease the building from the college for the next two years.

Wednesday workshop: ADAMS -- Tonight’s Selectmen’s workshop meeting will discuss "for profit use of town facilities" and a special town meeting warrant article amendment.

Theatre festival goes before Selectmen: WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Williamstown Theatre Festival will receive a letter of reprimand from the Selectmen after failing an alcohol compliance check in August.

The Selectmen unanimously agreed Monday night to send the letter, which also requested that the organization report to the board any adjustments in oversight and operation of its concessions before its summer 2013 season.

In other business, the Selectmen set the tax rate.
