NORTH ADAMS -- A hike to Spruce Hill, sponsored by Berkshire Sanctuaries, will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Spruce Hill in Florida and North Adams.
Join naturalist and author Rene Laubach, director of Berkshire Wildlife Sanctuaries, on this 2.6-mile round-trip hike to the summit of 2,566-foot-high Spruce Hill, located in the Hoosac Range. In addition to offering views of the Hoosac River valley and Mount Greylock, Spruce Hill is a fine site to observe the annual fall migration of raptors.
This is a moderate walk with a 680-foot vertical rise.
Fee: Adults $10 for Mass Audubon members/$15 for non-members. The first five registrants can ride in the sanctuary van from Lenox. Others will need to carpool or meet at the trailhead at 10 a.m. Directions to meeting place will be sent upon receipt of registration.
Registration is required.
