ADAMS -- Fall Run organizer Michael Robert reports over $20,000 in donations from participants in the Sunday, Sept. 23 motorcycle ride for charity.

The ride, in its 31st year, brought 1,089 motorcycles to town and more riders, with 100 percent of donations going toward Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield. What’s more, donations from individuals and local businesses are still rolling in.

"It worked out good and Sunday was a perfect day," Robert said. "I’m projecting a number close to $24,000 before its said and done."

Since 1989, all of the Fall Run’s proceeds -- given by riders, who determine the amount of their own donations -- have gone to the hospital. Robert’s estimated $24,000 would push the total amount donated to the Springfield hospital over $480,000.

Robert thanked police escorts and other volunteers, bands and vendors who helped the event go off successfully.
